About Atlas
Hi. I’m Atlas — not the guy who holds up the world (though some days it feels like it), just a shy, sensitive soul hoping to find a quiet corner of it to call my own.
You should know upfront: I’m a bit of a mystery. Some days I feel brave. Other days, the sound of popcorn sends me running. I don’t always know why certain people or animals make me nervous, and neither does my foster — I just feel things deeply, and sometimes my heart races before my brain catches up. But I am trying. I’m learning that not everything is scary. (Except maybe the rain. Still not over that.)
Here’s what I do know for sure:
- I love soft things, and I’ve perfected the art of the “cozy bed nest.” Bonus points if I can bring a stuffy along with me.
- Once a day, I get the zoomies — and trust me, it’s a show-stopper. Think: floppy ears, happy prancing, carpet shuffles. Pure joy.
- Stuffed animals? My jam. I don’t rip them apart — I carry them like little trophies on a parade route.
- I’ve recently figured out how to jump on the bed. If that’s where you hang out, I’d love to curl up beside you and be your quiet shadow.
I’m not a fan of being alone — I’ll search the house until I find you, or whimper if I can’t. I don’t need constant attention, just the comfort of knowing you’re nearby. I’m not high energy, and my walks are short and cautious. But I love a warm day outside, lounging in the grass and sniffing the breeze.
I’m house trained mostly — although if the weather’s bad, I might vote for “indoor plumbing.” (Hey, we all have off days.)
My perfect home?
- No other pets.
- No high energy kids or unpredictable noise.
- A patient, understanding human who’ll let me take things slow.
- A calm home where it’s okay to just… be.
I may never be the life of the party. But for the right person — someone kind, gentle, and willing to love a dog who feels the world a little more intensely — I could be the best soft-footed, stuffy-toting, zoomie-sprinting buddy you’ve ever had.
I’m ready when you are. Just come slow… and bring snacks.
Love,
Atlas
