Hi, I’m Blitzen

Yes… like the reindeer — fast learner, gentle soul, and surprisingly calm for a puppy.

I’m a young pup who somehow missed the memo about being chaotic. While I do have playful puppy moments (and the occasional nippy phase — I am a baby!), I’m incredibly tuned in to my people and take direction beautifully. My foster says I might be the most well-behaved puppy she’s ever met… and she’s fostered before.

I love food, toys, and gentle play, but I’m just as happy hanging out at your feet while you bake, watch TV, or go about your day. I match your energy naturally — if you’re calm, I’m calm; if you’re ready to play, I’m in. Honestly, it feels like a vacation being with me.

I’m doing amazing with housetraining (only a few accidents and all human error!), and I sleep all night in my crate beside the bed from 9pm to 6am like a champ. Daytime crates aren’t my favourite — I really like being able to see my person — but I’m learning, and with time and confidence, that will come.

I’m a little shadow dog and follow my human everywhere. When they leave, I do bark the whole time because I miss them — it’s my biggest challenge right now. With consistency, reassurance, and maturity, this is something I can absolutely grow through. I just love deeply.

I’m friendly with people, gentle with kids (though I haven’t met very young ones yet), and great with other dogs. I’d love a playful dog friend who can show me the ropes — I already try to convince my foster sibling to play, even if he’s pretending to be grumpy.

Cats fascinate me and I want to play with them, but I’m respectful enough that they feel safe hanging out nearby. I don’t have a prey drive, I’m not reactive, and I’m not fearful — just curious and joyful.

I like being close to my people, but I prefer having my own little space to rest where I can still touch you. I won’t climb all over you, but I will make sure we’re connected.

My ideal home? One that understands I’m still a puppy and ready to guide me as I grow. I could fit into an active home or a quieter one — I’m wonderfully adaptable. I’d thrive with another dog, lots of love, and people who enjoy having a loyal little shadow by their side.
