About Lenore (Luna)
Hi… I’m Lenore, but my foster mom calls me Luna — a tiny, delicate lady with a gray-muzzled smile and the softest heart you’ve ever met.
I’m a shy little thing at first. When new people appear, I keep my tail tucked and my body low, just trying to understand if the world is safe. But with my person — my one special person — I am loyal, snuggly, and so eager for love. I lean in for belly rubs, press my body close, and even wrap my paws around her arm so she keeps petting me. I only give that side of myself to the person I trust most.
Outside, I’m a surprisingly speedy walker, trotting along like a four-pound sled dog. I love going on little adventures and exploring the world with my tiny legs and big curiosity. I wag at dogs we pass, and I’d likely enjoy a quiet canine friend — but it’s okay if I’m your one and only, too.
I’m still working hard on my housetraining. I will pee and poop outside on walks… but sometimes I come in and forget and go again. I try my best! Pee pads help (although I sometimes miss — I’m tiny, what can I say?). Lots of short walks make me feel successful.
I’m a true velcro girl. If my foster mom goes upstairs and I’m blocked by a baby gate, I cry and howl until I can reach her. When she leaves the house, my heart hurts and I make sure she knows I miss her. When she’s home, I want to be near her at all times — preferably perched in a cozy little nook or curled against her side. I don’t mind other people, but she’s my anchor.
I tolerate handling from others, but my comfort zone is very small. I want a gentle, patient human who understands that love takes time. And yes… sometimes I grab her arm and try to hump it. I’m working on that.
I adore snow, love long walks, and excel at turning anything — laundry piles, blankets, stray pillows — into a perfect nest bed. I’m resourceful like that.
My ideal home?
A quiet, patient, loving home — maybe with a single woman or someone looking for a tiny shadow who will adore them endlessly. Someone who won’t push too fast, who understands small-dog feelings, and who appreciates a loyal little companion who wants to be their everything. A secure yard would be wonderful since I’m excellent at finding small nooks and gaps.
I may be small, but my love is big, my loyalty is huge, and my heart is ready for the right person to show me the world isn’t so scary. If you’re looking for a gentle, quirky, snow-trotting cuddlebug to be your devoted companion, I might be your girl.
Love,
Luna (Lenore)
