As another year comes to an end, we reflect back on both the successes and challenges our volunteer-run rescue continued to face in 2021 with the ongoing pandemic. We brainstormed ways to transition many of our fundraisers to be online or socially-distanced outside, which allowed us to continue to support the dogs and cats that need us and engage with the community we appreciate so much. We saw an increase in the number of new volunteers and foster homes, including 115 new volunteers at our private shelter! We continue to see delays with medical care which increases the amount of time animals spend in our care, and we have seen an increase in the number of cats needing rescue. We continue to serve our mission of saving lives around the world, one animal at a time, and are proud to say that year to date we have facilitated adoptions for 247 dogs and 493 cats!
Like last year, we were unable to have many of our usual in-person fundraisers, including our largest annual fundraiser, Spay-ghetti, and our numerous summer events. On this #GivingTuesday, created to encourage and amplify small acts of kindness, we need your help more than ever. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to Pawsitive Match today.
As a non-profit, all-volunteer organization whose greatest expenses are medical ones, we rely heavily on your contributions to cover these ever-increasing costs.
On this Giving Tuesday, we’d like for you to meet one of our long-term dogs, Keeper. Keeper is an 11 year old German Shepherd who came to us three and a half years ago with severe hip dysplasia. Once in care, he displayed some skin issues and ear infections which grew to become very severe. He was then sent to the dermatologist who conducted testing and diagnosed Keeper with a rare autoimmune disease called Discoid Lupus Erythematosus and he has been in treatment ever since. This is a very expensive disease to treat as he needs to see the specialist often and is prescribed a variety of medications which cost hundreds of dollars per month. We’ve tried many medications but this is the only combination that works to keep his antibodies in check. And now Keeper needs to have a dental with extractions which will be riskier and more costly due to his ongoing medications.
Please consider helping us to provide a healthy retirement for Keeper by donating today.
Keeper is only one example of the dogs and cats that need our help. Here are some of the ways you can make a meaningful contribution that helps us help animals like Keeper:

We understand not everyone is in a position to make a financial contribution. You can still do good stuff!
Thank you in advance for your consideration and continued support!
