News & Notes

  • (16/05/2012) HELP! Are you, or someone you know, traveling to Ontario between May 28 - 30?

If so, we could really use your help! Kit Kat has been adopted by her current foster's parents who live in Ontario, so we need an escort to get her to her new home. If you can help out, please contact Tara at transport@pawsitivematch.org.

  • (15/05/2012) We are very pleased to announce that Nancy Rattray has accepted the position of Adoptions Coordinator effective immediately. Nancy has been an integral part of our adoptions team and we would like to thank Nancy for taking this on and accepting the work and responsibility that comes with this busy job!

  • (15/05/2012) Our Puppies, Pansies and Cupcakes, Oh My! adoptathon & fundraiser was a great success! Thanks to all of the people who dropped by to check out our dogs and to pick up a bedding plant or cupcake (or two, or three...). All told, we raised $607.50 from cupcake, plant and t-shirt sales. We also found furever homes for Blaine, Jessica, Cola and Oakie. Congratulations to their new families! And of course, another big thank-you goes out to all our volunteers, and especially our event sponsors Gunnar's Office Furnishings, Smartycakes and First Impressions Landscaping.

  • Thanks to everyone who dropped by the booth to chat at Pet Expo. It was a great success for us, plus we had a blast!

  • Another HUGE thank you goes out today for a fantastic $500 donation! Astra Zeneca recently held a colouring contest and the winner was Ty Boyd, son of local employee Jason Boyd and his wife Marin. Two years ago, the Boyds adopted Ela from PMRF so Ty decided that we should receive the $500 donation!

Congratulations on your win and thanks, SO MUCH, Ty!

  • We wanted to send out a HUGE thank you to Laura of Pet Planet Airdrie for inviting us to share her booth at the Airdrie Home & Lifestyle Show! Eve was adopted out, plus there was lots of interest in a few of our other adoptables, as well as fostering and volunteering. Thank you Laura!!!

  • Introducing our Volunteers of the Month for March - Susan Wenzel from our Adoptions Team and Wanda Terry from our Cambrian Team.

  • Announcing our "Everyone Deserves a Home" promotion! Sadly, we have a few dogs in our care that just can't seem to get adopted! So, this spring we are offering a reduced adoption fee of $150 on those longer term residents. For more information on these dogs, please contact adopt@pawsitivematch.org.

UPDATE (02/04/2012): Five of these dogs have been adopted! Congrats to Bunny, Daisy, Moon, Rocky and Ruby!

UPDATE (11/04/2012): We've added a few more faces to the promotion!

  • We have a YouTube Channel! Our first video is of the PMRF team down in Mexico at the recent Spay/Neuter Clinic sponsored by CANDi. Check it out!

  • A HUGE "Thank You" goes out to the great folks at Alberta's own Champion Petfoods, for their very generous donation of 2000Kg of Acana Classic dog food!

  • FOSTERS NEEDED! - Fostering is a rewarding experience that helps the dogs by allowing them to live in a home, with a family, while we work on matching them with the right forever family. Fostering is the alternative to keeping them in an isolated, caged environment. If you are interested in fostering with us, please complete a foster application!
