About Ohtani

Hello there, potential forever family!

My name is Ohtani, and I’m a big, loveable guy who’s all about affection and good vibes. I might look like a tough dude with my size, but I’m actually just a gentle giant who loves being close to people. I don’t have any favorites when it comes to humans—whether you’re male, female, young, or not-so-young, if you’re kind, I’m all in! Snuggling is my absolute favorite, so if you’re looking for a cuddle buddy, I’m your guy.

I live with three cats right now, and we get along great. I respect their space, and honestly, they’re more interesting to watch than to chase. I’ve got a dog buddy at home too, and we have a blast playing in the backyard together. I really like having another dog around—it’s fun and keeps me busy!

I’m crate-trained and working on my house training (getting there!), and I’m also learning all kinds of cool things like walking nicely on a leash and sitting patiently while my paws are cleaned. My foster mom says I’m super smart, and I love learning new things, especially when I get to show off how well I’ve mastered “wait” and “sit.”

I’ve got medium energy, so two walks a day are perfect for me—nothing too crazy. I’m currently recovering from a bit of a leg injury, so my walks are short, but I don’t mind taking it easy. When I’m not walking or playing, you’ll probably find me lounging on the couch or snuggled up with my people.

I’ve made great progress with separation—at first, I didn’t like being left alone, but I’m getting better and better. I might whine a little, but I calm down once I know everything’s alright.

So, what’s my ideal home? A calm, quiet place with a yard where I can stretch my legs, a family that’s home most of the time (because I really love being with my people), and maybe a dog buddy to play with! I haven’t met kids yet, but because I’m a big guy who doesn’t always know his own strength, I’d probably do best in a home without very young children.
