About Kiah
Hi there, I’m Kiah, but my friends call me Kira! I’m still figuring out this big, beautiful world, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I’m new to Canada, and I arrived just in time for a deep freeze—imagine my surprise when my paws first touched the snow! I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to walk on it, eat it, or run away from it! But thanks to my loving temporary humans, I’m starting to realize that this place might be pretty great (even if the ground is suspiciously cold).
I’m a quiet and gentle girl who likes to take things slow. New people and loud noises can make me a bit nervous, but every day I’m getting braver. I feel more comfortable around women, but I’m working on trusting men too. If they’re patient with me, I’ll even sit on the couch next to them and accept treats—especially if those treats are delicious! (By the way, I LOVE food, so I’m picking up new tricks pretty quickly.)
I’ve met a couple of other dogs, and while I might start out a little shy, I don’t mind their company. Sometimes I even join in for a little playful fun! My absolute favourite place is the couch—nothing beats curling up somewhere cozy with my humans—but I also feel safe in my crate. I’ll even wander into my crate on my own when I need a little quiet time, and I don’t bark or cry when left alone.
I’m doing really well with housetraining and I’m learning basic commands quickly. Walks can still be a bit intimidating because of all the action—cars, people, and all those unpredictable city noises—but I’m making great progress every day.
My perfect home would be quiet and patient, with a gentle human (or two) to help me feel safe. A calm environment with lots of love and a cozy couch to snuggle on sounds just right. I may be timid, but I have so much love to give. If you have the patience to help me blossom, I promise to be your most loyal and loving companion.
Kiah was born approximately May 2024 and will be a medium to large dog when fully grown.
