About Mattie

Hello there! My name is Mattie, and I’m still figuring out this whole “living in a house” thing—but so far, I think I like it! There are soft beds, warm laps, and apparently, if you do your business outside, you get treats. (I know, right? Best deal ever.)

I’m a sweet and curious pup who loves being around people, though I take my time before jumping into the action. Loud noises startle me, and I sometimes prefer to sit back and observe before joining in. But once I trust you, I’m all in for cuddles—especially naptime snuggles on a warm lap. I also love playing chase in the backyard with my big dog friend. (I may be small, but I’m fast!)

I’m still learning the ropes of house training and my humans are extremely pleased with my excellent progress here.  I’m also mastering my crate training and am learning to walk nicely on a leash.  I am quickly learning all kinds of instructions (like when I am called and sit and when they say that crazy “no” word).  I am also learning be chill with the one they call “cat”.

One of my favorite hobbies is treasure hunting. I like to search the house and yard for special little things to bring back to my bed. I’m not a chewer or a troublemaker; I just appreciate a good collection!

My ideal home? Honestly, I could fit into a lot of different situations—other dogs, kids, a big yard, or a quieter home with patient people to help me build my confidence. Mostly, I just want a family who will help me keep learning and exploring this big, exciting world at my own pace.
