About Savannah

Hi! I’m Savannah—sometimes called “Vannah Banana” when I’m being especially goofy. I’m a young, high-energy border collie mix with a big heart, a bright mind, and a whole lot of love to give. If you’re looking for a loyal adventure buddy who’s equal parts snuggly and spunky, I just might be your girl!

Let’s get the important stuff out of the way: I LOVE people. Big ones, little ones (well, I haven’t met the really little ones yet, but I bet I’d love them too), and especially the kind who hand out treats or want to play fetch. I’m super affectionate and love cuddling up in bed with my humans at night—yep, I’m a sleepover kind of gal.

I’m also smart—like, scary smart. I’m learning quickly what this whole “house dog” thing is about. I know how to sit, I’m learning my name, and if you’ve got snacks, I’ll pretty much learn whatever you want. I’m house-trained, crate-trained, and very food-motivated. Basically, I’m a little sponge soaking up all the good stuff you teach me.

Now, I am still working on my “calm voice” when I see other dogs or people on walks. I just get so excited and want to say hi to everyone that I forget I’m not supposed to yell about it. But I’m making progress with treats and patience—my foster family says I’m very “treatable.” (See what they did there?)

I haven’t met any animals up close yet, but I bark at them from a distance like I want to be friends—maybe a little too enthusiastically. I’d probably love a doggy buddy to play with once I get comfortable. A big fenced yard to zoom around in would be the dream!

My ideal home? An active family who loves being outside as much as I do, maybe with kids to run around with, and people who are home a lot—because honestly, I love being where the action is. I’m not a couch potato (yet), but I am the kind of dog who will melt into your lap after a good walk and a game of fetch.
