About Bethany
Hi! I’m Bethany — though my foster folks sometimes call me Annie (and to be honest, I’m still figuring out that names are a thing). But you can call me whatever you want, as long as it’s followed by treats, cuddles, or playtime.
Let’s get this out of the way: yes, I’m suspicious of strangers at first. I mean, wouldn’t you be if a bunch of new people and dogs just kept popping into your life unexpectedly? But here’s the good news — give me a few minutes (or a snack) and I’ll be your best friend, lounging beside you like we’ve been soulmates since birth. It’s kind of my thing: cautiously optimistic with a soft, squishy center.
I currently live with a bouncy resident dog who thinks he’s part kangaroo. At first, I wasn’t sure about him — he was loud, jumpy, and a little much. But now? We’re total besties. We zoom, we wrestle, we swap toys, and I sneak kisses when he’s not looking. I think I’d love another dog sibling in my forever home, but I’d also be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as a solo pup.
I’m house-trained, crate-trained, and I sleep through the night in my crate like a champ. I don’t love the car, but I’m working on it. And while I may never be the first to dive into a new situation, I’m learning to trust the world more and more every day. I’m not mouthy (except when playing with dogs), I share toys like a pro, and I love a good cuddle — especially after a long play session.
Food? Obsessed. Enthusiastic doesn’t even begin to cover it. Let’s just say… slow-feeder bowls are my current love language. Also, maybe don’t leave a roast chicken unattended on the counter. Just saying.
I’ve been told I’ve got “high energy but good manners in progress.” I do get the zoomies, and I’ll jump up when I’m excited, but we’re working on it. I learn quickly and genuinely want to make you proud. Also, did I mention how cute I am when I’m concentrating?
My perfect home? One with people who understand that I need a minute to get comfortable, but once I do, I’ll be your most loyal, playful, kiss-giving, snuggle-ready shadow. A yard would be a dream, a dog buddy would be great, but most of all, I just want someone who sees me for the sweet, silly, scrappy little gem I am.
Are you that someone?
Tail wags and nose boops,
Bethany (a.k.a. Annie)
