Hi! I’m Freckles — but you can call me your new best friend.

I’m a happy, freckle-faced girl with legs built for zoomies, a heart made for cuddles, and a nose that’s excellent at finding your socks. I came into foster care with a bit of clingy anxiety, but now I’ve learned that I don’t have to be attached to your hip 24/7 (although I still think that’s a pretty great place to be).

Let’s get one thing out of the way: I LOVE humans. All sizes. All kinds. You? You’re already my favourite. I’ll follow you anywhere, even to the ends of the earth—or at least to the fridge.

I’ve got some fantastic house manners: I’m housetrained, I don’t bark, and I know all the important things like sit, come, leave it, and down. I’m also a bit of a brainiac and love learning new tricks. Crates? Hard pass. Not my thing. But leave me loose with a chew toy or two, and I’ll chill like a pro. At night, I snooze peacefully in the bedroom like the polite housemate I am.

Now, full disclosure: walking out the front door still makes me nervous sometimes. I don’t know why—maybe it’s the step into the great unknown—but once I’m out, I’m golden. I love my walks, my backyard zoomie sessions, and chasing after balls like a true athlete. If you’ve got a field or big yard, prepare to be impressed.

I like other dogs, and I’m curious, but I’ve only met them on leash. No drama from me. Cats, birds, and critters? Honestly, I don’t care—I’m too focused on following you around or plotting my next snuggle.

I’m also food motivated (treats = yes please), love being petted, and have a growing love affair with toys. Baths? Ew. But I’m working on it. Nail trims and brushing? I’ll tolerate them if you promise me cuddles and cookies after.

My perfect forever home? Somewhere with people around more often than not—maybe a family with kids, or a person who wants a dog to take everywhere. I’d thrive in a house with a yard, access to open spaces, and a family that understands I’m still building confidence in a few areas. I need patience, affection, and plenty of playtime.

In return, I promise a lifetime of loyalty, laughter, and love. I’m your shadow, your jogging buddy, your cuddle companion, your Frisbee champion, and your best girl.
