About Buckwheat

Hello there, future family! My name is Buckwheat, and I’m a gentle, loving 3-year-old pup with a playful side that’ll keep you smiling all day long. I adore children of all ages and have been living with a 5-year-old who loves to hug me and play with my paws. I’m always gentle and respectful, never showing any aggression, even during playdates. Strangers used to make me a bit nervous, but I’m getting more confident every day, happily letting people pet me on our walks. I did have some initial trust issues with men, but with patience and love, I’ve overcome that fear. While I get a bit too excited around other dogs, I’m working on it and know I can improve with the right guidance.

I have excellent house manners – I’m house trained, crate trained, and not at all destructive. I’m respectful of toys, don’t guard my food, and love sleeping in my crate through the night. I’m also getting braver with house noises like vacuums. I dream of a home with a yard where I can sniff and play fetch. I love being around my humans, so a family that’s home often or someone who works from home would be ideal.
