About Chiquita
Hi, I’m Chiquita — your future snuggle buddy, toy enthusiast, and part-time cucumber thief.
I’m a petite, sassy sweetheart with a heart full of love and a whole lot of zoomies. If you’re looking for a pup who can entertain herself and keep you endlessly entertained in the process, you’ve found her. I like to toss my own toys in the air just to chase them again, and my foster mom says our house always looks like a toy store exploded — in the cutest way possible, of course.
Once I settle in, you’ll see I’m a top-tier cuddlebug who LOVES belly rubs, head scratches, and curling up beside you after a day of exploring and playing. New situations can make me a little unsure at first, especially when meeting new dogs. But with slow intros and some treats, I warm up quickly — I just like to take things at my own pace. I already have a doggy foster sister, and we’ve become total besties, wrestling, chasing each other, and sharing toys.
I’ve been told my “excited face” is pure comedy gold — I do this little sneer/grin combo when I’m happy or when I’ve been caught red-pawed stealing toast, socks, or sneaking a taste of those mysterious green things humans call “seedlings.” I’m still a puppy, so I’ve got lots to learn, but I’m smart, curious, and so food motivated that training me is kind of a breeze… once you get me to stop wiggling with joy.
I sleep in my crate at night, I walk nicely (well, mostly!) on leash, and I’m doing great with my house training. I can get barky at my own reflection or when people walk past the window, but I’m easily redirected and improving every day. I might cough a little — my vet is figuring out if it’s kennel cough or something like tracheal collapse — but it doesn’t slow me down one bit.
My ideal forever home? Almost anywhere! I’d love a family who can match my playful spirit and help build my confidence in new environments. I’d do best with respectful kiddos and dogs who know how to give me space to settle in. After that, we’ll be rolling in toys, snuggles, and possibly… a stolen slipper or two.
So if you’re into zoomies, big love, and tiny mischievous grins — I’m your girl.
Love,
Chiquita
