About Dora
My name is Dora, and I’m writing to let you know why I’m your dream companion. As a two-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix, I’ve mastered the art of being your loyal sidekick. Whether it’s a lazy day at home or an adventurous walk outside, I’m always ready to be right by your side.
First, let’s talk about my love for people. I get along beautifully with everyone I meet, especially adults and teenagers. In fact, I’ve become best friends with my foster family’s 14-year-old son, treating him just like I do the grown-ups in the house. When guests or delivery drivers stop by, I greet them with a friendly wag and then flop over, inviting them to rub my belly. I don’t bark much either, so you don’t have to worry about unnecessary noise.
One of my biggest passions? Car rides! If you pop open the trunk, I’m in before you can blink. It might take a little convincing to get me out because, well, I just love the journey so much. On walks, I’m well-behaved and listen to your cues. If we run into something exciting, like a deer, I might pull a little to investigate, but I’m easily redirected. I’m learning to wait at doors when they open, though I might get so excited that I bolt outside — don’t worry, I’m working on it!
Now, let’s talk about the important stuff: I’m fully house-trained and a fantastic sleeper. I prefer my dog bed at night but will always be nearby if you need me. While I’m not a fan of showers, I handle sponge baths like a champ and love the feel of water when it’s poured gently over me outside.
I’m the type of dog that mirrors your energy. If you’re busy working at your desk, I’ll happily curl up at your feet. If you’re ready to head out for a walk, I’ll be waiting eagerly by the door. I adapt easily, whether you’re someone who enjoys a slow walk or prefers to jog. And when it’s time to relax, I’ll snuggle up on the couch with you. I even know how to give hugs — just say the word, and I’m all yours!
I’ve been thriving in a calm, quiet house with my foster family, and I imagine I’d do best in a similar environment. A home with no other pets would suit me just fine since I’m really a people-loving dog. While I haven’t spent time with younger kids, I think their quick movements might make me a little too excited, so I’d be happiest with teens or adults.
If you’re searching for a loving, adaptable dog to be your perfect companion, I’m your girl. Watch my video, and you’ll see just how much joy I can bring to your life.
With love and tail wags,
Dora
