About Dumpling
Hi there! My name is Dumpling, but my friends also call me Pumpkin because, well… I’m round, sweet, and completely irresistible.
I’m writing to you from my foster home, where I’ve been learning all sorts of good dog manners and figuring out how wonderful it feels to be safe and loved. Life here is pretty great — I get belly rubs, daily walks, and even paw-wiping spa treatments (yes, I’m that kind of girl). But I’m ready to pack my treat pouch and head home… to you.
Here’s what you should know about me:
I’m polite, clean, and housetrained — no accidents here, thank you very much.
I know commands like Sit, Down, Off, Drop It, Leave It, and I even help you put on my harness by lifting each paw like a dainty little lady.
I enjoy walks (especially if there’s a squirrel to keep an eye on), and while I used to pull, I’ve learned that nice leash manners earn treats — and I do love treats!
Cats? We’re… working on it. I’m curious and sometimes unsure, but with a calm kitty and a bit of time, I think we could reach a respectful truce.
Other dogs? Sometimes I bark at them on walks, especially if they’re rude or bark first. But if they ignore me, I can ignore them too.
I’m calm at home and okay on my own for a few hours, though I do get a little bored and might redecorate (sorry about the mattress). Chew toys help!
I have a few quirks — I’m not a fan of sudden movements behind me, and I’m still learning to share my things around other animals. But I’m eager to learn, especially when treats are involved. (Seriously, have I mentioned I’m food-motivated?)
My ideal home? Somewhere calm, cozy, and full of love. I’d thrive with a confident human who’s patient and kind, someone who appreciates my little helper habits and lets me cuddle up close at night. I don’t need a big yard or a busy house — just someone who sees me and says, “You’re the one I’ve been waiting for.”
If that’s you… I’m ready when you are.
With love (and maybe a little drool),
Dumpling (Pumpkin)
