About Gus

Dear Future Family,

Hi, I’m Gus – a happy-go-lucky guy with a heart full of love and a tail that just won’t quit. Seriously, when I get excited, my whole body wiggles. It’s part of my signature charm. I’m currently living my best foster life, but I’m ready to take the next step… straight into your home (and your heart)!

Let’s get the basics out of the way. I’m house-trained, I know my name (and come running when you call – unless, okay, maybe I spot a pelican or squirrel…), and I get along really well with other dogs. In fact, I currently live with another pup and we’ve got a good thing going. I’m also a pro-level belly rub receiver – ask anyone!

Now, I’ve been told I’m a bit of a social butterfly. I’m friendly with men, women, teens, and the kiddos I’ve met. I haven’t had a ton of exposure to little ones, but the ones I’ve met were awesome. I do get a little enthusiastic on walks and might bark at other dogs because, well, I want to go say hi! My foster parent is helping me work on my leash manners, and I’m doing my best – promise!

I’ve got energy to spare and a zest for life that’s contagious. I love my daily walks (one long one or two shorter ones does the trick), backyard zoomies, and quality toy time. But after a good play session, I’m all about that cozy nap life. I sleep on a pillow beside my foster’s bed and dream of belly rubs and biscuits.

I’m not a huge fan of crates – they kind of give me the ick – but I do fine left alone in the house with my canine buddy. I’m not destructive, I just chill. Oh, and I’m a food and toy enthusiast, so training with treats is a win-win!

My ideal forever home? I’d love an active family – kids welcome! – and a yard to run in. Another dog would be great, but I’d also be happy as your one-and-only. I’m okay with some alone time, as long as you promise daily walks and playtime. Most importantly, I’m looking for a family that loves big smiles, goofy zoomies, and endless cuddles.
