About Koda

Dear Future Family,

Hi there. My name is Koda, and if you’re reading this, it might mean you’re looking for a new best friend. I hope I can be that for you.

Now, I’ll be honest—I’m not your typical “jump into your arms and lick your face” kind of guy right away. New things are a lot sometimes. People, places, strange noises, and especially small humans zooming by on scooters… it can be overwhelming! But here’s the thing: I’m not shy because I don’t want to love you—I really do. I just need a little time to be brave.

I’m still figuring this big world out, but I’ve already come so far. I’ve met big dogs and made friends. I’ve learned that leash walks can be fun (even if I still pull a bit from excitement), and I’ve discovered that belly rubs, snacks, and comfy naps are basically life goals. I adore food, and I’m really into learning—just ask my foster, who’s working with me on confidence before diving into the fancy sit/stay stuff.

I’m looking for a home with another dog—one that’s kind, confident, and cool with showing a younger guy the ropes. A buddy like that helps me remember that the world isn’t so scary after all. I think I’d prefer a quiet-ish home, maybe with older kids, and people who understand that while I might freeze before I frolic, I’m working really hard to be brave. I’ve got medium energy, so two nice walks a day and some cuddle time suits me perfectly.

When I trust you, I’ll show you the real me: playful, silly, curious, and affectionate. I’m not destructive, I don’t bark much, and I’m a good boy who just needs a little patience and a lot of love.
