About Lichen
Hi there, future ride-or-die,
I’m Lichen — but you can call me Zoe, Zo Zo, or even just “HEY!” if you’ve got a treat in your hand. I’m a petite cattle dog mix with a heart full of love, legs built for adventure, and just the right amount of quirky to keep life interesting.
Let’s get the basics out of the way: I’m housetrained, crate-trained, and working hard on my manners. I know how to sit, shake, and lie down — though if a rogue squirrel appears or a plastic bag flutters by (those things are suspicious), I may temporarily forget. I’m very food motivated, though, and eager to please, so training with me is actually pretty fun. I do the “cattle dog bounce-nip” when I get excited — it’s just my breed’s way of saying let’s play!
I love humans of all ages, from toddlers to teens, and I get along well with dogs too — I especially appreciate the company of bigger dog buddies. I even tolerate cats and small critters, though I’ll admit I’m still figuring out birds. I’ve got a soft spot for patios, couches, and riverside zoomies, and I’m not what you’d call “clingy” — I can chill on my own or hang with my people, either way is good by me.
I am a little weird, though. I don’t mean to brag, but I’m sort of an expert at being scared of very specific, very random things. Some stairs? Terrifying. Semi-trucks? Nope. Garage door? Only scary on the way out. But I take it all in stride, and with reassurance and patience, I bounce back quickly. I wouldn’t do well in an apartment — I’m more of a “yard and space” kinda gal.
At night, I’m happy to snooze in my crate or free roam, and I’m generally quiet — except when there’s an exciting delivery or a raccoon plotting in the yard. Then I might sound the alarm, just in case you need backup.
So, if you’re looking for a sweet, silly, loyal little weirdo who’s part hiking buddy, part couch goblin, and all heart, I’m your girl. Let’s make some memories — and chase some leaves.
Wiggles and woofs,
Zoe (aka Lichen, aka Zo Zo)
