About Max
Hi, I’m Max — a gentle soul with a big heart and a soft spot for snuggles.
I settled into my foster home pretty quickly and bonded right away with my foster mom, showering her with kisses and affection once I realized I was safe. New people, especially men, can take me a little longer to trust, but with patience, calm energy, and gentle voices, I warm up beautifully. Once I trust you, I’m incredibly loving and loyal. Because I can be startled by sudden movements or loud noises, I’d do best in a quieter home without young children, though respectful older kids who understand giving space could be a good match.
I get along well with other dogs and currently live happily with two medium-sized pups. I seem to prefer calmer, more passive dog friends and enjoy peaceful companionship rather than high-energy chaos. I’m fully house-trained, walk nicely on leash, know my basic commands, and have great manners around the house. I don’t need a crate and do well free-roaming when left alone — I usually settle on a comfy couch or dog bed and relax until my people return.
I love daily walks and time outside, but I also have a wonderful off-switch and am very calm indoors. I enjoy toys and playtime, though I can get a little mouthy when excited, and I’m learning better ways to express that energy. In the evenings, when I’m winding down, I can become protective of cozy spots like the couch or my designated “place,” so having clear boundaries and consistency helps me feel secure.
I’m affectionate, sweet, and deeply loyal once I feel safe. I love gentle pets (especially under my chin), cuddling close, and following my people from room to room just to see what they’re up to. I’d thrive in a calm, patient home with experienced adopters, a fenced yard, regular walks, and an understanding of my need for predictability and reassurance.
If you’re looking for a loving companion who will reward your patience with endless devotion, soft snuggles, and a heart full of gratitude, I might just be your perfect match.
Max was born approximately April 2022 and is a small dog.
His adoption fee is $475
