About Mildred
Making the most of her fosters’ companionship, Mildred not only loves but needs to be with them, cuddling and snuggling and being held, then faithfully following them with adoring eyes. She also loves her large kennel, chewing on bones and playing outside with and cuddling with her doggy foster brother. Excellent now on leash, especially when following her doggy foster brother’s example, she’s learning to feel more comfortable with the city sounds swirling around her, gaining confidence with every walk she takes. Still hesitant about meeting other dogs, this shy sweetheart still requires repeated interactions with new people before she feels at ease with them, but she’s learned to retrieve a ball, waits politely by the door to go outside and paws at it to come back in. Eager to please and to learn, she sits on command, knows “down”, is close to understanding “no biting” and stops barking when her foster mom puts her finger to her mouth and says “shhh.” She rides well in her crate in the car, accepts being bathed without issue and is fully housetrained. Now all this loving lady needs is a home with a securely fenced yard, perhaps another playful pup already there, and understanding adopters to patiently bolster her self-esteem, further her socialization, complete her training, including her commands, and keep her adored and active always.
Mildred was born approximately July 4, 2022.
She will likely be a medium to large dog when fully grown.
