About Nicholson
Hi there – the name’s Nicholson, but my friends call me Nixon. I’m a dashing young gent with a soft heart, a big brain, and a deep appreciation for squeaky toys. If plushies were a sport, I’d be an Olympic gold medalist.
Let’s get one thing straight – I love people. I’m the kind of guy who will happily trot alongside you on walks, curl up in my crate when you’re out, and keep you company while you do whatever humans do all day. I even like kids, though I prefer the kind who don’t launch themselves at me without warning – a gentleman’s gotta have boundaries, right?
That said, I’m still learning that not all new humans are scary. Sometimes, especially with new men, I need a little extra time and space to warm up. Pushy strangers who get right in my face? Not a fan. But give me a moment, a few treats, and some respectful vibes, and I’m yours.
When it comes to other dogs, I’ve got great manners and a chill attitude. I share my home with a few canine companions and we get along famously. Cats? Well… let’s just say I’m “cat-curious.” I’ve made friends with a local cat on walks, but I’d recommend slow intros just in case.
I’m crate-trained, mostly house-trained (but hey, if I ask to go out and you ignore me, I’m only canine…), and I know a couple of cool tricks like sit and shake. I’ve even got solid recall—just say “Nixon” and I’m all ears. Speaking of ears, mine sometimes turn off when I see something super interesting on walks, but we’re working on that. Nobody’s perfect, right?
Inside, I’m low-key. I play fetch like a pro (indoors or outdoors), and I love to lounge in my kennel or on a comfy bed. Outside, I enjoy my walks and exploring the world—but I’m not bouncing off the walls either. I’m more of a “walk, play, nap, repeat” kind of guy.
Now, I haven’t tried baths or nail trims in my foster home just yet—we’re building trust first—but my foster folks think I’ll handle it like a champ once we’re tight. I am pretty food motivated, so that definitely helps.
I’d thrive in a home where people respect my space, understand my vibe, and love a good game of fetch. A yard would be awesome, but it’s not a dealbreaker if you’re up for walks and indoor toy time. I’d do best with respectful kids, other dog pals, and a family who’s home enough to hang out but cool with me chilling solo in my crate when needed.
So, if you’re looking for a loyal, low-maintenance, toy-loving best friend who’s got a few quirks and a whole lot of love to give, I think we should meet.
Your pal,
Nixon (a.k.a. The Squeaky Toy Connoisseur)
