About Shaya

Hi there! My name’s Shaya, but you can also call me Twiggy, Twigs, or any other cute nickname you come up with—as long as it comes with a treat and maybe a squeaky toy. I’m a young, bouncy, velvet-soft pup with honey-brown eyes and a heart full of love (and maybe a bit of mischief… the fun kind, promise).

Let me tell you a bit about me. I’m playful, clever, and super friendly. I’m learning “sit” (nailed it in just a few days!), and I’m pretty sure “fetch,” “stand,” and maybe “Queen of the World” are next. I absolutely love other dogs and will follow their lead like a little shadow with paws. I do bark at dogs I hear outside (and squirrels—because, well, they’re suspicious), but once things calm down, so do I.

I’m crate-trained, and after a day or two to get familiar with my surroundings, I settle in beautifully. I’m also doing great on housetraining—my foster says I’m smart and food-motivated, which is basically a cheat code for learning stuff. I get walked twice a day and would love a yard to zoom around in, especially if it means I can bring all the toys out there with me (I will bring them all, just you wait).

I haven’t met little kids yet, but I’m gentle and social with humans—especially the lady kind. I can be a bit cautious with men at first, but I warm up quickly once I know they’re my people. As for being picked up and cuddled? Meh, sometimes. But ear rubs and pets? Yes, please. I’ve got a soft spot for squeaky toys and kind voices.

I’d be happiest in a home with another friendly dog or with humans who want to include me in their adventures. Whether you’ve got a yard or live in an apartment, I’m down—just as long as we’re together. First-time dog parent? No problem! I’m eager to learn and will be your very best student.
