About Skipper

Hi there! My name is Skipper — but my foster mom also calls me “Skip,” “Skippy,” and sometimes “Mr. Wiggles,” because I’m always wagging my tail and bouncing around with excitement. I’m a happy, affectionate guy with a zest for life, and I’m on the lookout for my forever crew. I think you’re it!

Let’s talk about me. I’m a young, energetic pup with a big heart and a love for all things fun — toys, walks, cuddles, belly rubs, and especially food. If you’ve got treats, I’m listening. Actually, if you even look like you might have a treat, I’m already sitting and trying my best to be the goodest boy.

I’m crate trained (I love my cozy den!) and almost fully housetrained — I just need a bit more consistency and a few more reminders. I’ve learned how to sit and stay (especially if there’s a reward involved), and while I still get a little too excited sometimes to focus, I try really hard to please. I’m not a barker, except when I get startled, and I settle pretty quickly when left alone. That said, I do have a few quirks that make me unique.

The world can sometimes feel like a lot — loud noises, flags flapping, or unexpected things on walks might make me pause or give a little bark — but I’m learning every day that I’m safe now. With patient guidance and more experience, I know I’ll become more confident and relaxed. I really want to be brave, and I’m trying my best.

I adore other dogs (especially ones with the same energy level as me!), and I think a canine sibling could help me build even more confidence. As for cats… I’m still figuring them out. Sometimes I ignore them. Other times, I think they’re squirrels in disguise. Let’s just say: probably best if I live in a cat-free home unless you’re super experienced with that dynamic.

Now let’s talk about my hobbies: zoomies in the snow, chewing (a lot — like, if I’m awake, I’m chewing), and jumping up to greet my humans like I’m spring-loaded. I know that last one isn’t ideal, especially around small kids, so I’m working on it. Because of that, I’d do best in a home without very young children, but kids old enough to run around and play with me would be awesome!

My dream home? An active, dog-savvy family with a big heart and a bit of patience. I’d love someone who’s around a good chunk of the time and can continue working with me on leash manners, confidence-building, and appropriate chewing (because, listen, I really love chewing). A fenced yard would be amazing, and if you’re a runner, count me in. I’ll be your sidekick for life.

In return, I promise to make you laugh, smother you with kisses, keep your feet warm, and love you with everything I’ve got. I may need a little extra guidance at the beginning, but I’ll repay you tenfold with loyalty, joy, and my endlessly goofy charm.

Can’t wait to meet you — I’ve got my tail wagging just thinking about it.

Love,
Skipper
