About Spade
Hi there! My name is Spade, but my friends call me Jake—and if you’ve made it this far, I’m hoping you’ll be my next best friend! I’m a gentle, affectionate guy with a heart as big as my love for belly rubs. Seriously, if you start petting me, be prepared to keep going—I’m a pro at melting into cuddles.
I’m a pretty easygoing pup who loves spending time with my humans. Whether it’s a nice stroll in the park, lounging around the house, or keeping you company while you binge-watch your favorite show, I’m happy just being by your side. Some might call me a “velcro dog,” but I prefer to think of myself as your built-in best friend.
I have fantastic manners, especially when taking treats—I’ll wait politely, no snatching here! I get along great with kids and people of all ages, and I’ve got a calm, friendly spirit that makes me a wonderful companion. I also do well with other dogs and don’t get riled up when I see them on walks. Speaking of walks, I love them. As soon as I see my harness, my tail starts wagging, and I might even do a little happy dance. I go on three walks a day, and while I’m not super high-energy, I do enjoy stretching my legs and exploring the world with you.
Now, let’s talk about some of my quirks. I don’t like being left alone for too long—I much prefer having my humans around, and I’ll let you know if I’m feeling lonely. I’m also not a fan of small spaces, so if you need to leave me in a pen, I’d appreciate a roomy one. Oh, and I’d really prefer if you stayed outside with me when I do my business—I’m not a solo backyard adventurer.
I’m still working on my recall, so I’d love a securely fenced yard where I can safely enjoy some fresh air. I don’t chase after balls or play with toys much, but I do love being brushed! I’ll happily stand still while you give me a good grooming session.
My perfect forever home? I’d be happy with a young family, an older couple, or even a single person—anyone who wants a loyal, loving companion. As long as I get love, attention, and my daily walks, I’ll be the happiest boy.
So, what do you say? Think you have room in your heart (and on your couch) for me? I promise to be the best, most loving companion you could ever ask for.
With tail wags and cuddles,
Spade
